Objectives
In this project the reintroduction of recycled aggregates in the precast industry was evaluated, as well as the production of high performance concrete. The established objectives were achieved. The study addressed all the aspects proposed in the grant application: the crushing process was optimized, the reproduction / strength class optimization of the parent concretes was evaluated, the self-compacting properties of the concrete mixes were analysed and high-performance recycled aggregates concrete mixes were also evaluated. A technical specification was proposed and a patent request (“Betões elevado desempenho sem incorporação agregados naturais” - High performance concrete mixes without natural aggregate incorporation) was made.
The proposed indicators were largely surpassed. During the project 32 papers for international journals, 3 articles for national journals, 13 communications on international scientific meetings, 10 communications on national scientific meetings, 19 reports, 14 Masters Dissertations and 3 Doctoral Dissertations were produced. A seminar was organized and a patent submitted.
